Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Architect with expertise in AWS and server management to design, implement, and manage scalable and secure cloud infrastructure solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud platforms (AWS preferred), server architecture, and automation tools to ensure that cloud-based systems are efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with organizational goals. The ideal candidate will play a key role in shaping the cloud strategy, optimizing infrastructure performance, and overseeing day-to-day server management operations.
Key Responsibilities:

1. Cloud Architecture Design:
• Design and implement scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure solutions using AWS (Amazon Web Services).
• Define cloud architecture standards, including network design, server architecture, storage, security, and disaster recovery planning.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design cloud solutions that meet business and technical requirements.
• Evaluate and select appropriate cloud services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, etc.) to ensure alignment with application and business needs.

1. Server and Infrastructure Management:
• Manage and optimize cloud-based server environments, ensuring performance, reliability, and security.
• Oversee server provisioning, configurations, and ongoing monitoring for applications running in the cloud.
• Implement automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) for provisioning, configuration management, and deployment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve server issues, ensuring uptime and minimizing downtime in cloud environments.

1. Security & Compliance:
• Implement and manage security measures for cloud infrastructure, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and firewall configurations.
• Ensure that cloud infrastructure adheres to relevant industry standards and regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
• Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate risks in the cloud environment.

1. Cost Management & Optimization:
• Work with business and finance teams to define cost-effective cloud solutions that align with the companys budget.
• Implement cloud cost optimization strategies, ensuring that resources are provisioned efficiently and cost-effectively.
• Monitor and analyse cloud spending, identifying opportunities to reduce waste and improve resource utilization.

1. Automation and Scripting:
• Use automation tools (e.g., AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible) to automate deployment, scaling, and management of cloud resources.
• Develop and maintain scripts for provisioning and managing cloud resources (e.g., EC2 instances, storage, networking).
• Create monitoring and alerting scripts to proactively address infrastructure issues.

1. Cloud Migration:
• Lead and manage cloud migration efforts from on-premises environments to AWS or other cloud platforms.
• Develop and execute cloud migration strategies, including application, data, and infrastructure migrations.
• Ensure minimal disruption during the migration process and optimize the cloud environment post-migration.

1. Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity:
• Design and implement disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity strategies for cloud-based infrastructure.
• Ensure that backup, replication, and failover mechanisms are in place to maintain service availability.

1. Collaboration and Mentorship:
• Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to ensure that cloud architecture integrates smoothly with existing applications and workflows.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior cloud engineers and server administrators.

Requirements:

• Technical Skills:
• Extensive experience with AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, Lambda, CloudFormation, etc.) and cloud architecture best practices.
• Experience in designing and managing scalable, high-availability architectures in a cloud environment.
• Proficiency in server management (Linux/Windows) and experience with cloud-based infrastructure management.
• Strong knowledge of networking concepts (VPC, VPN, DNS, Load Balancing, Firewalls, etc.) in the cloud context.
• Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Ansible.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools for cloud infrastructure management.

• Experience:
• 3+ years of experience in cloud architecture, cloud infrastructure management, or server administration, with hands-on experience in AWS environments.
• Proven experience in implementing and managing large-scale server infrastructure, particularly within cloud platforms.
• Experience in cloud migrations and disaster recovery planning.
• A graduate with a bachelor’s degree in computer science.

• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical teams.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional certification.
• Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and container orchestration in the cloud.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and experience with tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or Circle CI.
• Familiarity with Azure or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a plus.
