Identity Access Management (IAM) Specialist – Mid Level

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ï‚• Design and deploy IAM frameworks, systems, and protocols.
ï‚• Develop single sign-on (SSO), multi-factor authentication (MFA), and other access
control mechanisms.
ï‚• Implement IAM solutions using tools like Okta, Microsoft Azure AD, Ping Identity,
ForgeRock, etc.
ï‚• Automate the creation, management, and deactivation of user accounts.
ï‚• Manage user roles, groups, and permissions across systems.
ï‚• Develop workflows for provisioning and de-provisioning user access.
ï‚• Develop and enforce IAM policies to ensure security and compliance.
ï‚• Conduct regular access reviews and audits.
ï‚• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, SOX, or PCI
DSS.
ï‚• Monitor IAM systems for potential vulnerabilities and threats.
ï‚• Investigate and mitigate identity-related security incidents.
ï‚• Manage identity federation across internal and external systems.
ï‚• Work with security, IT, and business teams to align IAM solutions with organizational
needs.

Key skills Required

● Expertise in IAM tools like Okta, SailPoint, Azure AD, or CyberArk.
● Strong knowledge of SSO, MFA, and authentication protocols (SAML, OAuth, LDAP).
● Scripting skills (PowerShell, Python) for automation.
● Familiarity with directory services (Active Directory, Azure AD).
● Understanding of regulatory compliance frameworks (GDPR, ISO 27001).

QUALIFICATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

Work experience and educational background that a candidate should have when applying
for the position.
● Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field.
● 4-10 years of experience in IAM or related areas.
● Hands-on experience in implementing and managing IAM solutions.
● Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
● Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
