Technician - Operation Theatre

• As an Operation Theatre Technician, your primary responsibility is to provide technical support and assistance during surgical procedures in the operation theatre
• You will work closely with the surgical team, ensuring that the operation theatre is prepared, sterile, and equipped with the necessary instruments, equipment, and supplies for each procedure
• Your role will involve both technical expertise and the ability to collaborate effectively with the surgical team

Key Responsibilities:

• Operation Theatre Setup: Prepare the operation theatre before surgical procedures, ensuring that it is clean, sterile, and properly arranged
• Set up surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies according to the surgical procedure and surgeon's requirements
• Check and maintain the functionality of equipment and instruments
• Sterilization and Infection Control: Follow strict sterilization protocols to maintain a sterile environment in the operation theatre
• Sterilize surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies using appropriate methods such as autoclaving or chemical disinfection
• Adhere to infection control practices and maintain hygiene standards
• Assisting Surgeons and Surgical Team: Assist surgeons and other members of the surgical team during procedures
• Hand instruments, sutures, and supplies to the surgeon as needed
• Anticipate the requirements of the surgical team and maintain a sterile field throughout the procedure
• Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Operate and maintain surgical equipment, such as anesthesia machines, surgical lights, and monitors
• Ensure that equipment is functioning properly and troubleshoot any technical issues that may arise during procedures
• Report equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed
• Patient Preparation and Transfer: Assist in preparing patients for surgery, ensuring their comfort and safety
• Help position and transfer patients onto the operating table
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure the patient's vital signs and anesthesia administration are monitored throughout the procedure
