LOCATION: Pune

Summary of Role

We are seeking an experienced Loan Syndication Process Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely cash and position reconciliation for loan syndication transactions. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

The Candidate

The candidate will have a good working knowledge and experience working with Loan Syndication, Bank Loan, CLOs, CDOs, Credit Funds and the different types of Loans. They will be driven and motivated to achieve excellence through hard work, good organizational skills, excellent communication and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Asset administration: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to performing and coordinating a variety of administrative duties and tasks including
  • Transaction Processing: Process loan syndication transactions, including Asset setup, Processing Rollovers, rate set, Paydowns, Restructure, merging Funging
  • Data Analysis: Analyze cash and position discrepancies, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. Preparing and assisting with various reports required by internal teams
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with loan syndication transactions, including operational, credit, and market risks.
  • Stakeholder Management: Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, operations teams, as well as external stakeholders, such as Agents custodians.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously review and improve loan syndication processes to increase efficiency, reduce risk, and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Cash/Position Reconciliation: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to performing and coordinating a variety of reconciliation duties and tasks including
    • Preparing daily reconciliation of cash transactions
    • Preparing daily reconciliation of Apex/Client positions
    • Ensuring aged breaks (over 3 days) are addressed and escalated
    • Processing and reconciling data in various systems
    • Actively researching discrepancies with various agents and internal teams
    • Performing Position Reconciliation- Client vs Agent Client vs Custodian
    • Preparing and ensuring all Reporting is issued within the required timeframes

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Degree in Accounting/Finance, or a relevant qualification
  • Candidate should have 2+ years experience working in loan syndication
  • Extensive knowledge of Loan Syndication, Bank Loan, CLOs/CDOs
  • Understanding or knowledge of various security types - Private Debt, Syndicated Loans, Bonds, Equities, Warrants etc.
  • Understanding of trade lifecycle
  • Knowledge and understanding of securities and other financial instruments Computer proficiency with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, familiarity with Geneva
  • Must have experience in Geneva tool.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Advanced Excel.
  • Attention to details able to perform tasks independently
  • Adaptability - able to change tasks quickly as per business need

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to adapt communication style to audience
  • Proven ability to prioritize responsibilities, manage time effectively and meet deadlines accordingly
