2. Job Purpose:

The role is responsible for leading and implementing strategic communication plans that strengthen the university's brand identity in the market.

3. Key Accountabilities:

• Strategic: Supports in planning and executing marketing strategies.
• Operational:
• Leads the creation and execution of branding strategies.
• Works with the marketing team to enhance relationships with the target audience, external partners, and media.
• Identifies emerging issues and challenges for the business/product and provides strategic solutions.
• Content Creation:
• Owns the creation of content like newsletters, blogs, social media, and marketing collateral.
• Oversees all online content and social media interactions, ensuring consistency with the brand’s messaging.
• Coordinates with stakeholders to prepare presentations, speeches, and media materials.
• Financial and Budget: Ensures the optimization and tracking of the budget for branding activities.
• Collaborations: Develops relationships with Heads of Schools and industry partners.
• Academic: Promotes a culture of positivity, collaboration, and quality in PR and branding.
• External Representation: Represents the university at professional bodies and with external stakeholders to build the MIT WPU brand.

4. Person Specification:

• Leadership and Management Experience: Capable of providing effective leadership, with a broad understanding of university programs.
• External Relations and Corporate Engagement: Able to advocate for the university regionally and nationally, influencing key decision-makers.

5. Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

• Experience: 8-12 years with a track record of garnering positive media coverage for a business or product.
• Education: Master's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Law, Journalism, International Relations, or Public Relations. Education domain experience is preferred but not a requirement.

6. Communication & Working Relationship:

• Internal: Collaborates with all schools, departments, and university leadership.
• External: Engages with corporate bodies, government agencies, and professional academic networks and societies.
