About the Job Role:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Lead, Last Mile Planning & Design to oversee and optimize the design and planning of our last mile logistics network. This role will involve managing the execution of last mile delivery solutions, improving efficiency, and ensuring timely, cost-effective service. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a strong analytical background, hands-on leadership skills, and a deep understanding of supply chain operations.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Own planning and design for Last Mile Supply Chain-including all fixed and variable resources.
2. Optimize Last Mile Operating cost -drive productivity and utilization of assets with Central Operations and Regional teams.
3. Plan last mile supply chain for new business lines -including Same Day Delivery, Quick Commerce, Air Express product.
4. Lead the design and optimization of the last mile delivery network, including defining routes, evaluating new technologies, and selecting delivery partners.
5. Analyze data and operational metrics to evaluate the performance of last mile delivery systems. Use data insights to continuously improve service and reduce costs.
6. Develop and implement strategies for scaling last mile delivery across multiple regions, ensuring capacity meets demand during peak seasons and growth.
7. Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce inefficiencies, and enhance customer experience in the final stage of delivery.
8. Manage relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) providers and other delivery partners, ensuring adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
9. Work closely with Operations, Technology, and Customer Experience teams to integrate last mile solutions with overall business objectives.
10. Lead the integration of technological innovations, such as route optimization software, automation, and real-time tracking solutions, into the delivery processes.
11. Develop and manage budgets for last mile initiatives, ensuring the balance of cost optimization and service quality. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of planners and analysts, fostering a high-performance culture.
Required Skills & Qualification:
1. Prior/Current experience in Supply Chain design functions, particularly in Ecommerce / Courier/ Logistics domain.
2. Engg. /MBA degree from Tier 1 / Tier 2 institute.
3. Min 3 years of relevant experience.
