Job Description

  • Axion Ray is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance Manager to join our India team
  • This role is critical to ensuring smooth financial operations, compliance, and reporting for our growing India operations
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Indian financial regulations and operational experience in managing day-to-day accounting and finance tasks independently
  • What You'll Do
  • Taxation Compliance:
  • SPOC responsible for timely compliance with all Indian tax regulations, including GST, TDS, and Income Tax filings
  • Prepare and submit accurate reports required by the Indian government and regulatory authorities
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and government bodies as needed
  • Accounting Operations:
  • Manage accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) processes
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing of books
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure adherence to Indian accounting standards
  • Financial Planning Analysis (FPA) (Nice to Have):
  • Assist in creating financial models to support strategic decision-making
  • Provide insights through variance analysis, forecasting, and budgeting
  • Collaboration Support:
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including People team, legal, and India operations, to ensure financial policies are aligned with business goals
  • Provide support for payroll processing and employee reimbursements
  • Who You Are
  • Experience:
  • 4-7 years of experience in finance operations in India, preferably in a US based startup
  • Strong knowledge of Indian tax regulations and compliance requirements
  • Hands-on experience with AR/AP, bookkeeping, and financial reporting
  • Experience in FPA or financial modeling is a bonus
  • Education: Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • A masters degree or CA/CPA qualification is a plus
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e g QuickBooks) and MS Excel
  • Familiarity with financial modeling tools is a plus
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across all levels
