Job Role: Senior System Administrator

SUMMARY

Responsible for designing, organizing, modifying, and supporting a company's computer systems. Designs and installs LANs, WANs, Internet and intranet systems, and network segments.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems.
• Maintain system efficiency.
• Ensure design of system allows all components to work properly together.
• Troubleshoot problems reported by users.
• Make recommendations for future upgrades.
• Maintain network and system security.
• Analyze and isolate issues.
• Monitor networks to ensure security and availability to specific users.
• Evaluate and modify system's performance.
• Identify user needs.
• Maintain integrity of the network, server deployment, and security.
• Ensure network connectivity throughout a company's LAN/WAN infrastructure is on par with technical considerations.
• Design and deploy networks.
• Perform network address assignment.
• Assign routing protocols and routing table configuration.
• Assign configuration of authentication and authorization of directory services.
• Maintain network facilities in individual machines, such as drivers and settings of personal computers as well as printers.
• Maintain network servers such as file servers, VPN gateways, intrusion detection systems.
• Administer servers, desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, phones, personal digital assistants, smartphones, software deployment, security updates and patches.
• CCTV cameras maintenance
• Biometric machines maintenance
• Systems, Laptops and servers- control and maintenance
• UPS and batteries maintenance
• Projector maintenance
• Sound and mike system handling and maintenance
• Electrical work monitoring and maintenance
• EPBX Intercom box maintenance
• AMC maintenance
• Monthly documentation on IT stock maintenance
• Ceasefire maintenance
• Firewall maintenance
• Emails maintenance (.in & .org)
• Softwares maintenance
• Storage backup and Restore maintanace

COMPLEXITY/PROBLEM SOLVING:

• Position deals with a variety of problems and sometime has to decide which answer is best. The question/issues are typically clear and requires determination of which answer (from a few choices) is the best.

RESPONSIBILITY/OVERSIGHT FINANCIAL & SUPERVISORY:

• Functions as a lead worker doing the work similar to those in the work unit; responsibility for training, instruction, setting the work pace, and possibly evaluating performance.
  No budget responsibility.

COMMUNICATIONS/ INTERPERSONAL CONTACTS:

• Interpret and/or discuss information with others, which involves terminology or concepts not familiar to many people; regularly provide advice and recommend actions involving rather complex issues. May resolve problems within established practices.
• Provides occasional guidance, some of which is technical.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL EFFORT:

• Responsibilities sometimes require working evenings and weekends, sometimes with little advanced notice.
• Regular travel .

Gaps to Fill : IT department help through email procedure, data backup through networking, all areas CCTV monitoring, server improvement and upgradation to Windows 12 or 16, work stations.
