IT Assistant Manager

Role & responsibilities

1. Support IT Operations:

• Assist in managing and maintaining IT systems, hardware, software, and networks to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
• Monitor system performance and provide recommendations for improvements.

2. Technical Support:

• Provide technical assistance to staff, troubleshoot IT issues, and resolve hardware or software problems in a timely manner.
• Ensure that users are trained and supported in the use of IT systems.

3. Project Management:

• Assist in planning, executing, and monitoring IT projects, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and objectives are met.
• Help coordinate with vendors and third-party service providers for IT services and products.

4. IT Security and Compliance:

• Implement and maintain IT security protocols to protect company data and systems.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, company policies, and regulations related to IT.

5. System and Network Administration:

• Support the configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of servers, networks, and databases.
• Assist in managing the companys network infrastructure to ensure reliability and security.

6. Inventory Management:

• Oversee the management of IT assets, including hardware, software licenses, and tools.
• Track and maintain records of all IT equipment and resources.

7. Team Leadership:

• Lead a small team of IT professionals, providing guidance, support, and training.
• Assist in staff performance evaluations and encourage professional development.

8. Disaster Recovery Planning:

• Assist in developing and implementing disaster recovery and business continuity plans for IT systems.
• Ensure backup systems are regularly tested and reliable.

9. Vendor and Budget Management:

• Help manage IT budgets, ensuring the efficient allocation of resources.
• Collaborate with vendors and service providers to negotiate contracts and manage relationships.

10. Report Generation and Documentation:

• Create and maintain detailed records and documentation for IT systems, procedures, and projects.
• Generate reports on system performance, security status, and project progress for senior management.

Preferred candidate profile

• Education: Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience:
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in IT, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Experience managing IT infrastructure, network systems, and security protocols.
• Prior experience in handling IT-related budgets, contracts, and vendor relationships is a plus
• Certifications:
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or Microsoft Certified: Windows Server.
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or similar networking certifications.
