Design and carry out informal assessments to identify children who need special education support and understand their learning needs.
Design Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for each child, in light of their learning needs.
Plan and carry out effective and engaging remedials sessions for the children.
Set clear goals for the children and keep track of their progress.
Take all possible steps to boost student engagement, motivation and self-belief. Work with the children with empathy and respect.
Collaborate with teachers, social workers, counsellors and parents to promote the children s well-being.
Education: Graduate with B.Ed. Certification in Special Education is preferred.
Required Experience and Knowledge:
Experience of working with children with learning difficulties, preferably children from marginalized communities (minimum of 3 years experience).
Experience of conducting assessments for LDs and reporting the findings in a sensitive and constructive manner.
Demonstrated ability to develop IEPs for children independently or in consultation with class teacher and subject teachers, and to implement these to a high standard.
An understanding of the educational options for children with LDs.
Preferred Experience:
Working with children from marginalized communities.
Experience of working with parents to ensure that they understand their children s needs and are able to support their learning.
Experience with/ability to use ICT technologies in a productive way, particularly for special education.
