In his current profile, there needs to be a source capex of more than 1000 Cr independently.

JD:

Strategic

1. Provide overall leadership and guidance for group SCM Sourcing and Procurement team with a view to lower procurement costs and warehousing costs, achieve targeted returns on investments, efficiently manage on- time delivery & ensure the security and quality maintenance of warehoused materials

2. Partner with business leadership and corporate sourcing to formulate the logistics and warehousing strategy for different businesses and plants

3. Undertake resource planning and, budget creation and budgetary approvals for the SCM Sourcing and Procurement sub-functions

4. Actively be updated on best practices in sourcing and procurement, including e- procurement and bidding processes, and reduction in approval time for high- value supplier contracts

Core Functional -

Supplier Handling

1. Manage vendor sensing, de-risking, quality management, and keep a check on the overall performance

2. Manage long-term and short-term contracts with supplier's basis cost and risk of late delivery

3. Manage relationships with raw materials, components, and capital equipment suppliers, especially critical and/or high value suppliers

4. Monitor overall supplier cost and quality of materials/ equipment procured

5. Prescribe quality standards, prices, minimum order quantity, re-order time, and minimum and maximum order quantities and prices by material and equipment

6. Ensure minimum risk of disruptions to operations by diversifying the vendor database, and keeping it up- to date

7. Maintain a database of current and prospective suppliers and ensure lower cost by higher bargaining power by using the same suppliers' services across geographies, keeping in mind logistics cost and lead time

8 .Evaluate alternative long-term procurement and sourcing strategies and make recommendations for the same

Transportation & Warehousing-

1. Partner with the plant heads/project heads to plan and implement in a timely and adequate manner, the procurement of raw materials, components, and capital equipment, for smooth production

2. Partner with the corporate logistics head to ensure that logistics are in accordance with sourcing, and that sourcing budget is not overshot

3. Evaluate, decide, and implement procurement management systems/information system/ other software to optimize efficiencies

4. Ensure timely, seamless execution of transactional tasks related to procurement management, including documentation and approvals

5. Understand and support the tax and regulatory aspects of procurement, including international procurement

People development-

1. Take overall responsibility for people development initiatives and building in-house capabilities for employees in the department

2. Foster a performance driven culture in the team by regular review of performance parameters and giving ongoing feedback to team members

3. Contribute towards development of talent for the department by providing subordinates with adequate exposure and growth opportunities to enable readiness for higher roles

4. Actively participate in HR initiatives to drive overall employee engagement and motivation

5. Oversee the SCM logistics sub- function with specific responsibility for the development including succession planning for the team members

6. Support capability development programs by identifying and recommending the training areas relevant for the SCM Logistics employees
