The Data Curation team applies human insights to help machines learn from text-based human interactions. We think deeply about what people might mean when they interact with AI systems and how best to label that data for machine learning. We work with machine learning, speech modeling, data science, research and product teams, interacting with ASAPP s machine learning products through their entire lifecycle.
What you ll do
Develop expertise in a variety of data annotation areas, including intent annotation, generative agent response evaluation, conversation summary generation/evaluation, Named Entity Recognition, and more. Our labeling work is primarily text, and speech-to-text related only
Provide product insights gained from spending time with front-line customer data
Partner with research, data science, and machine learning engineering teams to create future annotation tasks
Design and collaborate on any annotation work needed to bring a project to successful completion
Provide feedback and insight on ways to continually optimize annotation functions at ASAPP
Build logical data ontologies to suit modeling needs
Write and maintain project documentation and guidelines for internal teams and external audiences
What you ll need
Bachelor s degree or greater in linguistics, cognitive science or human-computer interaction; OR equivalent experience with data annotation
Fascination with how people think and express themselves and the ways in which we can distill, clarify and label that information for use in AI and machine learning environments
Ability to adhere to strict guidelines while also pointing out areas where improvements can be made. Subsequently the ability to write guidelines in an efficient and easy to follow fashion.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
What we d like to see
Experience with data annotation or human user research studies
Comfortable using CLI to install/manage software packages and repositories, and run scripts to format data appropriately.
