Ocean Operation Manager

Deep knowledge of export-import customs clearance, pricing negotiation, and shipment process

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The job entails handling all operational activities related to sea and freight and team management skills.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Handling departments including customer service, Operation, and Sales.

Maintain and build new client relationships

Develop good rapport with the shipping line for procuring competitive exports.

Good knowledge of export customs clearance documentation and operational procedures.

In-charge of Pricing & negotiating rates.

Attending customer complaints regarding service issues. Conducting weekly meetings with all departments.

Conduct weekly debtor meetings and ensure debt collection by going through the financial statements with accounts.

Deciding selling rates for key customers & new customers.

Forward quotations to overseas agents for inquiries/exhibition & project cargo handling, sea air cross trade shipments.

Negotiation of freight rates with shipping lines / Agents.

Monitoring Operations/documentation through an internal information system to ensure Standard Operating Procedures.

Knowledge of Customs clearance and export-import operational activities

Skills & Requirements:

Bachelors or MBA degree in Logistics, business or related field.

Experience in Negotiation skills

Expertise in operation related activities of sea, freight

Deep Knowledge of export import process

EDUCATION/LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

Graduate/MBA

English, Kannada, Hindi, Local Language

WORK REQUIREMENTS

5-10 years of experience

Operate efficiently in a highly pressurized environment.

Experience in freight & logistic operation is highly preferable
