Senior Accountant

Role & responsibilities

We are seeking a qualified accountant to join our small finance team in Delhi. The successful candidate will provide key analysis of historical management accounts, managing and overseeing the financial activities of the organization and various other regular and one-off tasks as required in support of the overall financial health of the company. The successful individual will report to the Head of Finance (India) but will also be required to work closely with all colleagues regardless of geographical location. Therefore, he/she must be comfortable both working alone when necessary and with colleagues.

This is a very busy department; the successful candidate will need to be flexible and assist colleagues with various other tasks as and when required.

Qualification: CA, CPA, ACCA

Responsibilities:

• Maintain the general ledger and oversee the accuracy of all accounting transactions.
• Reconcile and analyze balance sheet accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
• Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns, ensuring compliance with local tax requirements.
• Detailed sales commission calculations
• Historical cash flow analysis
• Client debtor reports including analysis of cash collected, invoices generated and debts outstanding.
• Various balance sheet reconciliations
• Assisting team in timely preparation of monthly management accounts and annual audited financial statements.
• Preparation of ad hoc reports as required by Management.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency in financial operations.
• Implement best practices to enhance the overall effectiveness of the finance function.

Preferred candidate profile

• 2-3 years post-qualification experience
• Sound accounting knowledge
• Excellent spreadsheet skills
• Proficiency in any standard accounting packages
• Great attention to detail
• Very good communication skills including excellent spoken and written English
• Ability to meet tight deadlines
• Desire to enhance existing processes and improve efficiency
• Supportive of colleagues
• Flexible approach to work.
