The Senior Development Engineer is responsible for development tasks such as requirement analysis, designing, coding and debugging, release deployment by utilizing standard concepts and principles. Operating as a fully contributing team member under broad guidance, the individual is expected to apply independent judgment to determine and execute a course of action, subject to review.

Knowledge: Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.

5. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (List the key duties and responsibilities and essential functions of the role)

1. Develop regression impact analysis for customer reported use cases or bugs.
2. Designs high-level and low-level architecture for functional requirements, turning them into marketable features or use cases.
3. Develops software for database functionality, GUI-based applications, or web-based supporting tools.
4. Demonstrates strong command of the primary products technology.
5. Adheres to best coding practices and software control systems.
6. Exhibits expertise in one or more modules of the product.
7. Maintains a solid understanding of core modules of secondary products.
8. Communicates assertively with customers and the regional team.

Work Experience : Typically requires a minimum of 4 + years of related experience with a Bachelor s degree; or 2 years and a Master s degree; or equivalent experience. Typical range is 4-8 years.

Skills and Abilities :

Technical Abilities

Proficiency in writing, debugging, and maintaining COBOL code.

Knowledge of relational databases (DB2, SQL).

Proficiency in handling and manipulating flat files, and importing CSV data into database.

Knowledge of integrating COBOL programs with other systems and applications.

Preferred to have tool hands-on experience in WinSCP/Putty/Emulator Glink/FileZilla.

Nice to have understanding about Synergex DBL.

Nice to have experience in Unix/Linux operating system.

Experience in batch job scheduling and execution.

Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN).

Familiarity with unit testing to control the quality.

Understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies, such as Agile and Waterfall.

Functional Abilities

Experience working in ERP domain, specifically Warehouse/Stock/Inventory Management.

Analytical Abilities:

Strong problem-solving skills to debug and resolve complex issues.

Ability to perform impact analysis for changes in software or database structure.

Skilled in translating business requirements into technical solutions.

Proficient in conducting data analysis and creating comprehensive reports .
