Responsibilities.
Monitor and maintain the z/OS environment, ensuring high availability and performance.
Troubleshoot and resolve mainframe hardware and software issues swiftly and effectively.
Collaborate with application teams to support their mainframe application requirements.
Implement system upgrades, patches, and maintenance in accordance with best practices.
Perform regular backups and ensure data integrity and disaster recovery processes are in place.
Document all processes, system configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
Assist in capacity planning and resource allocation to meet business demands.
Requirements.
Proven experience as a Mainframe Infrastructure Support Engineer, specifically with z/OS.
Strong knowledge of mainframe hardware, software, and networking concepts.
Experience with JCL, TSO/ISPF, and other mainframe utilities and tools.
Hands-on experience with problem determination and resolution for z/OS environments.
Familiarity with database management systems, particularly DB2 or IMS.
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a detail-oriented approach.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively.
