The successful candidate will join a team of professionals supporting a growing opportunistic investment platform. It is an exciting opportunity for a junior level accountant to work in the investment management business in a fast-paced environment that provides significant opportunity for learning and growth.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Immediate specific duties include performing daily and monthly accounting reviews for investment portfolios, identify and resolve variances while addressing root-causes, collaboration with other internal teams to resolve breaks and improve processes, and communicate and report to clients and other stakeholders.

• Runs and maintains existing Investment reports for both internal and external clients. Perform reviews all reports before distributing and follows key controls to ensure the reports are complete, accurate and generated in a timely manner.

• Analyzes investment information in the reports that are being prepared and performed in compliance with regulatory and GAAP reporting requirements. Investigate and answers any questions that may arise from the investor of the reporting information.

• Works directly with the internal stakeholders to define and complete new report requests. Follows through with stakeholders to ensure that their reporting needs were met.

• Perform various daily/monthly checks and review reconciliations to ensure accurate, efficient, and effective processing in accordance to control process

• Assist with processing and review of manual transactions related to less liquid asset classes such as Alternatives, Bank Loans, Private Placements, etc.

• Supporting accounts payable/ receivable activity.

• Supporting internal/ external audit queries.

• Work with other teams to obtain investment related information

• Work with management team to continually improve all processes, procedures, and practices to enhance team efficiency and productivity

Qualifications & Experience

• 3+ years experience in an accounting/ reporting function Management degree in Accounting and Finance

• Excellent communication, organizational, and strong interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively on cross functional teams/projects

• Demonstrated process orientation and problem-solving skills

• A strong detailed orientation and work ethic

• Knowledge of Fixed Income, Structured Products, Derivatives, Mortgage Loans is a plus
