Job Description

The Senior Application Developer is principally responsible for the development, maintenance, enhancements, and delivery of GRiDS applications to the user base.  Responsible the implementation of new features for globally used applications specifically focused on the back-office activities of Aon's Reinsurance. These activities involve processing of statements, payments, received cash, cash allocation, electronic banking details, exchange rate transactions, general ledger, and revenue reporting processes. The person in this role, aside from maintaining current applications, will support the modernization initiatives for applications in this service area. 

As the Senior Application Developer some of your key responsibilities will involve: 

• Responsible for application development.  
• Responsible for Unit Testing and Mocking to assure appropriate code coverage
• Actively participate in technical meetings to discuss implementation of new features in existing applications. 
• Provide technical resolution for complex business scenarios and Production issues. 
• Review and understand User Stories to translate them into technical tasks and story point them. 
• Collaborate very closely with Development Leads and Product Owners to ensure technical design and requirements are being followed. 
• Working with geographical distributed teams. 
• Enhancing and maintaining a Global deployed application. 

Qualifications: 

• 10+ years application development and implementation experience
• 5+ years experience with Microsoft SQL Server including ability to work with and troubleshoot large stored procedures.
• Good understanding of SQL data models and complex joins with TSQL
• 4+ years' experience in using Microsoft Dot Net in either C# for VB.net
• Experience with restful API creation and consumption.
• Experience and a good understanding of creating and maintaining unit tests.
• Experience with Entity Framework.
• Experience working with Azure DevOps (ADO) work items and pipelines.
• Experience with Azure PaaS and IaaS services.
• Experience working in Agile development.
• Experience with using Postman.
• Experience in WPF and XAML.
• Experience and understanding of Dependency Injection.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related technical field. 
• Previous experience or good understanding of double-entry accounting and finance related fundamentals a major plus.
