- GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF ROLE: The Appian Senior Engineer role is primarily responsible for building and deploying applications on the Appian platform
- The candidate will have extensive experience in application design, process modeling, and integration using Appian
- The Senior Engineer will play a key role in designing and developing high-quality, scalable Appian applications
- JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Design, develop, and deploy Appian applications that meet business requirements and align with best practices
- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Create process models, expression rules, SAIL interfaces, and integrations using the Appian platform
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and work in an Agile environment
- Design and develop database objects and write quality SQL code
- Perform unit testing and support user acceptance testing to ensure high-quality deliverables
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to junior developers to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices
- Troubleshoot and resolve application issues, optimizing performance and scalability
- Stay current with the latest Appian features, updates, and industry trends to enhance the platforms capabilities
- Document technical designs, configurations, and procedures to ensure maintainability and knowledge sharing
- Participate in project planning, estimation, and status reporting activities
- SKILLS/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience developing applications on the Appian platform
- Proficiency in Appian versions 20
- x or later, with hands-on experience in application design, process modeling, business rules, and integrations
- Strong understanding of Appian architecture and best practices for application development
- Hands-on experience writing Appian Plugins (Smart Services, Function Plugins, and Servlet Plugins) Connected Systems, and Component UI Plugins API integration
- Experience with relational databases and proficiency in SQL programming
- Experience with Agile development methodologies and tools
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment

- Experience with web services (SOAP/REST), SQL, and other integration technologies is a plus
