Position: Assistant Manager-Sr. Executive-Business Development - (Industrial Starch)


Job Location: Mumbai


Educational Requirement: B.E/ B.Tech (Chemical) or Post graduation/graduation with Chemistry subject /MBA Marketing


Experience: 4 to 8 yrs. of relevant industry experience preferably selling industrial starch products to textile, paper, pharmaceuticals & construction industries.


About the role: The job entails developing/generating business for industrial starch by implementing / executing strategies for growth through the product lines of leading principals we represent to achieve the divisions targets.


Brief Description of Duties:

  • Responsible for meeting the top line volume and value targets for given/allotted regions for the financial year in line with starch product Business growth plan and strategy.
  • Develop, plan and implement suitable sales strategies for new customer acquisition.
  • Develop, plan and implement sales strategies for achieving maximum sales potential from the existing customers.
  • Generate monthly, quarterly and annual sales forecast and ensure its effective implementation.
  • Develop new Key Accounts and ensure sustainable growth & profitability of these accounts as per the annual target.
  • Carry out product gap analysis on an ongoing basis and provide input for the sourcing team to identify new principals.
  • Develop proper market intelligence and carry out competitor analysis to identify and develop Ankush's unique selling propositions and differentiators for our product basket.
  • Carry out market mapping & potential analysis for all given regions.
  • Ensure regular monitoring of collection to ensure no payment over dues as per the agreed norms.
  • Coordinate with customer services team / warehouse for all dispatch related matters.
  • Ensure 15-20 days of customer visits in a planned manner covering all key customers in the given region.
  • Participate in all sales review meetings as per plan.
  • Actively participate in all trade shows / exhibitions to promote industrial starch product business, generate new business leads and track and monitor sales level progress.

Skills Set/Area of Expertise:


  • Hands on experience in selling industrial starch products to textile, paper, pharmaceuticals & construction industries.
  • Possess good communication & strategic prospecting skills.
  • Sound analytical & problem-solving skills, good negotiation skills & growth mindset.

Preferred Experience:


  • Should have commercial acumen.
  • Should have strong customer relations for the product segment.
  • Exposure in handling Key accounts as well as mid & small size customers.
  • Competency to identify new products/applications to grow the business.
