Job Description: Finance Director US-Based Technology Company

Location: Mumbai (or willingness to relocate)
Experience Required: 10-15 years
Preferred Background: Big 4 experience, experience with US public companies, and establishing/leading shared services operations

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Finance Director to lead our financial operations in Mumbai for a US-based technology company. This role requires a deep understanding of US GAAP, GCC (Global Capability Center) operations, and end-to-end finance functions, including month-end closing, GL accounting, accounts receivable (AR), and accounts payable (AP). Reporting directly to the international office outside India, the ideal candidate should demonstrate exceptional leadership, technical acumen, and the ability to operate in a global, matrixed environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Operations Management:
• Oversee and manage the finance and accounting functions, including GL accounting, AR, and AP processes.
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
• Maintain compliance with US GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
2. Shared Services Setup & Management:
• Establish and optimize a shared services framework for efficient finance operations.
• Streamline processes to ensure scalability and cost-effectiveness for the US parent entity.
3. US Public Company Compliance:
• Drive compliance with US public company requirements, including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and SEC reporting standards.
• Collaborate with external auditors for quarterly and annual audits.
4. Global Reporting & Collaboration:
• Act as the primary point of contact for the international office, delivering accurate and timely financial reports.
• Collaborate with global stakeholders to provide actionable financial insights and recommendations.
5. Team Leadership:
• Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance team in Mumbai.
• Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and innovation.
6. GCC Operations Oversight:
• Manage GCC operations, ensuring alignment with global strategies and financial objectives.
• Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations while maintaining global alignment.

Key Qualifications & Skills:

• Education: Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent qualification; CPA/CFA
• Experience:
• 10-15 years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 3-5 years in leadership roles.
• Hands-on experience with US GAAP, financial reporting, and compliance.
• Prior experience working with a Big 4 firm is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise in handling US public company financial operations.
• Proven track record of setting up and managing shared services operations.
• Technical Skills:
• Advanced knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite).
• Proficiency in financial reporting tools and data analytics tools.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-cultural environment.
• High adaptability to shift work to align with global time zones.
