Specialist Compliance Officer- Insurance

Key Responsibilities:

1. Regulatory Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with IRDAI regulations and other relevant laws governing insurance distribution in India.
• Keep abreast of regulatory updates and communicate changes to the relevant departments.
• Implement and monitor compliance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
2. Internal Audits & Monitoring:
• Conduct regular compliance audits and inspections to identify potential gaps.
• Develop and implement corrective action plans to address any deficiencies identified during audits.
• Monitor sales practices, customer disclosures, and documentation to ensure adherence to regulatory norms.
3. Policy Implementation:
• Assist in drafting, reviewing, and updating compliance policies, manuals, and training materials.
• Ensure that all employees, especially sales and operations teams, are aware of compliance policies through training and awareness programs.
4. Reporting & Documentation:
• Prepare compliance reports for management and regulatory authorities as required.
• Maintain comprehensive records of compliance activities, including audits, inspections, and reporting.
5. Risk Management:
• Identify compliance risks related to third-party distribution and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
• Act as a point of contact for regulatory authorities and respond to compliance-related inquiries or investigations.
6. Training & Advisory:
• Provide guidance to internal teams on compliance matters and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct training sessions for employees to ensure a culture of compliance within the organization.

Who you are:

• Educational Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree in Law, Finance, or a related field. A professional certification in compliance or insurance is preferred.
• Experience:
• 5+ years of experience in compliance, preferably in the insurance or financial services sector.
• Hands-on experience with IRDAI regulations, audits, and compliance frameworks.
• Skills:
• Strong understanding of the insurance industry, especially third-party distribution channels.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Proficient in using compliance management software and MS Office Suite.
