Associate General Manager/General Manager - Legal - Real Estate - LLB/LLM (15-20 yrs)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic legal professional to join our team in Bengaluru as an AGM/GM - Legal.

In this leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing all legal aspects of our real estate projects, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and mitigating legal risks.

You will provide expert legal counsel to senior management, manage litigation, and lead a team of legal professionals.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in real estate law, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record of successfully managing legal operations in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement legal strategies to support the company's business objectives in the real estate sector.

- Provide expert legal advice and guidance to senior management on all legal matters related to real estate transactions, land acquisitions, development projects, and dispute resolution.

- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.

- Oversee the drafting, review, and negotiation of various real estate agreements, including sale agreements, lease agreements, joint development agreements, and mortgage deeds.

- Conduct due diligence on land titles and property documents.

- Manage the registration and transfer of properties.

- Manage litigation and dispute resolution processes, including arbitration and mediation.

- Represent the company in legal proceedings and liaise with external counsel.

- Develop strategies to minimize legal risks and resolve disputes effectively.

- Ensure compliance with all relevant real estate laws and regulations, including RERA, land acquisition laws, and environmental regulations.

- Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate legal and regulatory risks.

- Conduct internal audits and compliance checks.

- Lead and mentor a team of legal professionals.

- Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide guidance and training.

- Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

- Build and maintain strong relationships with government authorities, regulatory bodies, and external legal counsel.

- Represent the company in industry forums and legal conferences.

- Collaborate with internal departments, including land acquisition, project development, and sales.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

- 15+ years of experience in real estate law, preferably in a leadership role.

- Extensive knowledge of real estate laws and regulations in India, particularly in Karnataka.

- Proven experience in managing real estate transactions, litigation, and dispute resolution.

- Strong negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.

- Excellent leadership and team management skills.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

- Proficiency in legal research and analysis.

- Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university.

- Membership with the Bar Council of India.

- Experience with RERA compliance and land acquisition processes.

- Knowledge of environmental laws and regulations related to real estate development.

- Experience in managing large-scale real estate projects.

- Existing network of contacts in the Bengaluru real estate industry.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university.

- 15+ years of relevant legal experience within Real Estate
