The Shop Floor Head will oversee all shop floor operations, focusing on efficient production management and effective team leadership. This role is central to ensuring that production targets are met while maintaining quality, safety, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Management:

• Plan, organize, and oversee the daily operations of the shop floor to meet production schedules and targets.
• Monitor workflows, ensure timely execution of production orders, and minimize delays or bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with planning and procurement teams to align production schedules with material availability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production challenges to maintain operational efficiency.
• Track and report key production metrics, including output, cycle time, and downtime, to management.

Team Leadership and Management:

• Supervise, guide, and motivate the shop floor team to ensure high performance and accountability.
• Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring effective use of skills and resources.
• Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, priorities, and feedback.
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages innovation and problem-solving.
• Identify training and development needs for staff and provide opportunities for skill enhancement.
• Address employee performance issues and implement improvement plans where necessary.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

• Ensure all production activities comply with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Work closely with quality teams to identify and resolve production issues.
• Promote a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement among the team.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Electrical Engineering degree or ITI qualification in Electronics.
• Minimum 20 years total work experience. Minimum of 810 years of experience in production/shop floor management in aerospace or electronics manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of aerospace standards and regulatory requirements.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage resources, and drive operational efficiency.
• Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems for production planning and tracking.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage a diverse team.
• Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
