Position Specification:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Production Manager to oversee operations at our Rice Processing Unit in Nigeria. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in rice milling or similar food processing industries, a proven track record of managing large-scale production processes, and the ability to drive efficiency and quality at every level of production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Production Management: Oversee day-to-day operations of the rice processing unit, ensuring that production targets, quality standards, and deadlines are met.
• Process Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize milling processes to improve production efficiency, reduce waste, and maximize output.
• Team Leadership: Lead, train, and supervise production teams, ensuring that all team members are well-equipped and motivated to perform at their best.
• Quality Control: Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure that all rice products meet company standards and regulatory requirements.
• Maintenance Oversight: Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure all machinery is operating efficiently and is well-maintained to minimize downtime.
• Inventory Management: Manage raw material and finished goods inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained and that raw materials are used efficiently.
• Health & Safety Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to health and safety regulations and ensure a safe working environment for all staff.
• Reporting & Documentation: Prepare and submit regular production reports, including performance metrics, operational challenges, and recommendations for improvement.
• Continuous Improvement: Work closely with senior management to develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement in production processes, cost reduction, and overall productivity.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in a production management role within a rice processing unit, food manufacturing, or related industry.
• Education: A Bachelors degree in Engineering, Food Technology, or a related field (Postgraduate qualification is a plus).
• Skills:
• Strong knowledge of rice milling technologies, machinery, and production processes.
• Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
• In-depth understanding of quality control systems and safety standards in manufacturing.
• Ability to optimize production processes for increased efficiency and reduced costs.
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.

• Passport: Must have a valid passport with the ability to travel if required.
• Availability: Immediate joiners are strongly preferred.
• Language: Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of local languages is a plus.
