IP Assistant Manager

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct Trademark and Patent searches and evaluate results
• Preparation, filing, and prosecution of IP applications and other IP-related filings, including trademarks and copyrights
• Collaborate with other department and business teams to assess IP risks and opportunities
• Monitor and manage the IP portfolio, ensuring timely renewals and compliance with international IP laws
• Review, analyze, and summarize relevant case law and legal articles pertaining to IP
• Drafting legal documents relating to Estate Planning and Private Family Trusts viz. Trust Deeds, WILLs, ancillary documents like Gift Deeds, Affidavits, Board Resolutions, etc.
• Research on Indian case laws, case studies related to Estate Planning / Trusts.

Pre-requisites OR skills to be acquired:

• Understanding of various laws & regulations viz. Patent Act, Trademark Act, Copyright Act and their respective Rules and Regulations
• Understanding of Indian Trusts Act, Indian Succession Act and Personal laws relating to Succession
• Understanding Tax implications pertaining to Trusts in India (Taxation of Trusts, Stamp Duty, Gift Tax, Capital Gains Tax, etc.).

Requirements:

• Self-motivated having effective communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
• Conceptual clarity
• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
