Job Description

  • The US Payroll Assistant Manager will support payroll operations by Processing and overseeing the payroll process, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and assisting in payroll audits. This role requires strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage payroll functions efficiently across multiple states.
  • Perform on-cycle and off-cycle payroll processing and related activities ie Timecard Review, Edit, Corrections, Meal Pay Penalties, Missed Pay Punch Report, Holiday Pay Reporting, PTO Accrual and Reporting, Census Reporting, Audit of employee information across all the systems, Termination Processing (Full and Final paychecks), Manual Check Processing, ACH Rejection, Stop Payment and YTD Corrections. Verification of employment, Year-end Processing, YTD Audits, 941 Reports, W2, Direct Deposit, Pay Cards, W4 Update.
  • Maintain and update payroll systems with employee records, salary changes, tax status, and other payroll-related data.
  • Knowledge of Federal and State payroll rules, regulations and Reporting.
  • Experience with Year-end payroll activities.
  • Experience in processing Garnishment and Reporting.
  • Experience with Benefit deduction processing, Reporting and Communication with Vendors.
  • Operates as the Assistant Manager and provides functional direction in all areas for issue resolution.
  • Leads a team of SMEs and senior associates.
  • Provide guidance and share knowledge in processing payroll entries with payroll staff.
  • Provide ongoing reports to management and other workstreams as needed, including internal and external audit requests.
  • Resolve escalated/complex issues that require managerial intervention.
  • Knowledge of Payroll, TA, and Benefits Service Providers (ADP, FUSE, Employee Navigator, Principal, E-Verify platform a plus).
  • Individuals must be organized, detail-oriented, proactive and energetic.
  • Individuals must be able to complete all Payroll tasks within defined Timelines and with 100% accuracy.
  • Maintain standard process documents, Process Flow, and Various trackers (Production, Learning Log, Minutes of meetings etc), recommend process improvements, and participate in the implementation.
  • Support audits (internal and external) by providing payroll-related documentation and reports.
  • Coordinate, deliver and participate in Team training.
