Software Development Manager, Alexa Customer Journeys

As an SDM you will be responsible for building and leading a team delivering projects across Alexa. You will have a significant influence on Alexa s overall strategy by helping define product features, driving the system architecture, and spearheading best practices to enable a superior product. You will be expected to make appropriate trade-offs to optimize time-to-market, clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to cross-functional teams. You ll be responsible for ensuring your team operates efficiently. You ll coordinate cross-team programs to deliver state-of-the-art natural language-based capabilities. You ll help teams identify key risks, provide guidance on how to communicate them, and ensure leadership has the right visibility. This role will have to work closely with senior leaders across Alexa and lead strategic initiatives.

As an Alexa Personality SDM you will be at the forefront of AI innovation, shaping an assistant that fosters natural and productive interactions. About the team
The Alexa Personality and EQ team is focused on advancing Alexas emotional intelligence and social interaction capabilities. - 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
