Job Description : Cybersecurity and Cyber Defence Systems in the Automotive Domain
Location : Bangalore
Position Overview :
- We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cybersecurity Engineer with expertise in cyber defence systems, particularly within the automotive domain.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust cybersecurity solutions to protect automotive systems and vehicles from cyber threats.
- This role involves working closely with both cybersecurity experts and automotive engineers to develop secure systems that comply with industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities :
Cybersecurity Architecture :
- Design and implement security architectures and frameworks for automotive systems, ensuring that all systems are secure by design.
Threat Analysis & Risk Management :
- Conduct regular risk assessments, threat analysis, and vulnerability assessments for automotive software, hardware, and communication systems.
Cyber Defence Solutions :
- Develop, deploy, and maintain defensive mechanisms to protect automotive components from cyberattacks, including intrusion detection and prevention systems.
Automotive Cybersecurity Standards Compliance :
- Ensure all cybersecurity measures adhere to international standards (ISO/SAE 21434, UNECE WP.
29, etc.) and regulations related to automotive cybersecurity.
Incident Response :
- Lead incident response efforts, conduct forensic investigations, and provide recommendations for recovery and mitigation following a security breach.
Collaboration :
- Work closely with engineering teams to ensure secure integration of cybersecurity measures into automotive components and systems (e.g, ECUs, infotainment, V2X communication).
Penetration Testing :
- Conduct regular penetration testing on automotive systems to uncover vulnerabilities and weaknesses.
Security Updates & Patches :
- Manage and coordinate the deployment of security patches, updates, and fixes for automotive systems and components.
Monitoring & Reporting :
- Continuously monitor automotive systems for unusual activities, vulnerabilities, or potential cyber threats and provide timely reports on security posture.
Required Qualifications :
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience (7+ years) in cybersecurity, with a strong focus on automotive systems, embedded systems, or related technologies.
- Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet, etc.) and security protocols (TLS, IPsec, etc.
- In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity tools, such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint security, and encryption methods.
- Experience with penetration testing tools (e.g , Kali Linux, Metasploit, Burp Suite).
- Familiarity with automotive cybersecurity standards and frameworks, such as ISO/SAE 21434, UNECE WP.29, and Automotive SPICE.
- Strong understanding of security vulnerabilities, attack vectors, and risk management practices within the automotive industry.
Preferred Skills :
- Experience in secure software development and the integration of security into the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Familiarity with Automotive Over-the-Air (OTA) updates and their security considerations.
- Certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or equivalent.
- Familiarity with machine learning or AI-based cybersecurity applications in automotive systems.
- Knowledge of vehicle telematics, V2X communication, and autonomous vehicle technologies
