Key responsibilities of an Oracle Cloud DBA:

• Database Installation and Configuration:

Setting up new Oracle databases on the Oracle Cloud, configuring database parameters, and managing storage options.

• Performance Monitoring and Optimization:

Continuously monitoring database performance metrics like CPU usage, disk I/O, and query execution times, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing optimization strategies.

• Security Management:

Implementing robust security measures to protect sensitive data, including user access controls, data encryption, and auditing procedures.

• Backup and Recovery:

Managing database backups, ensuring data integrity, and implementing disaster recovery plans to restore data in case of emergencies.

• Patch Management:

Applying Oracle database patches and upgrades to maintain system stability and security.

• Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:

Identifying and resolving database-related issues, including performance degradation, data corruption, and application errors.

• Capacity Planning:

Proactively monitoring database usage and planning for future capacity requirements to ensure optimal performance.

• Cloud Administration:

Utilizing Oracle Cloud features like Exadata Cloud Service, Autonomous Database, and Cloud Storage to manage database infrastructure.

• Collaboration with Development Teams:

Working closely with application developers to understand database requirements and optimize database design.

• Coordination with ISMS core team to support ISMS activities and implantation strategies at the company.

Required Skills for an Oracle Cloud DBA:

• Bachelors or Master’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
• 7-10 Years of experience as an Oracle DBA
• Installation, configuration, and upgrades of Oracle Databases.
• Managing Hybrid environments (i.e., On-premises and AWS Cloud, Oracle Cloud), disaster recovery, high-availability architecture, performance monitoring and management, backup & Recovery, Database Security, PL/SQL Scripting for performance optimization and continues improvement initiatives.
• Strong Linux administration experience including shell scripting. Knowledge in windows server environment for Oracle deployments.
• Excellent communication skills and should have an ability to lead database projects and mentor junior DBAs
• Certifications (Preferred but not required): Oracle Database Administrator and Cloud infrastructure certified Architect.
