Senior Research Associate, Smart and Resilient Power & Mobility

The incumbent will be responsible for providing research, analyses, stakeholder and client management, fund raising, and strategic communications. Relying on AEEE s triple-sector collaborative approach, the hired person will work under SRPM vertical at AEEE with special emphasis to support Demand flexibility, Demand Response, Demand side management related strategic initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AREAS: 1. Conduct qualitative and quantitative data analysis through

secondary research for policies and projects and for developing concept notes, proposals, and project implementation.

2. Conduct an extensive literature review on emissions, decarbonization trends, and best practices.

3. Conduct financial analysis and synthesize recommendations /findings into clear and compelling presentations and reports.

4. Support in project management aspects such as coordinating with partners, and stakeholders and assistance in activities to execute projects.

5. Identify demand flexibility/DSM/DR/Behavioural energy efficiency measures and analysis of the its potential impact on the grid. Lead the research and analyses carried out under the SRP team.

6. Conduct financial analysis and synthesize recommendations /findings into clear and compelling presentations and reports.

7. Help develop programs, policies, business and financing models, and work on deploying appropriate technologies at scale to transform the power distribution sector.

8. Provide thought leadership and strategic communications for SRP team. Keep track of regulatory changes and participate with point of views on related discussions with regulators, utilities, etc

9. Support in conducting meetings and building strong relationships with relevant stakeholders, including policymakers, public agencies, businesses, subject-matter experts, funding agencies, academia, and peer organizations.

10. Developing content for training programs for customized training offering of AEEE

11. Developing content for technical brochures, infographics, multimedia content, and other project materials in close coordination with the design and communication teams.

12. Support/lead in writing the full reports on the research project conducted and prepare manuscripts for peer-review publication where appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

• Master s degree in engineering, management, or a related technical and management field
• 5+ years of experience working in the power sector, with a strong focus on power distribution and energy efficiency in a senior role
• Working knowledge of energy markets and strong background in utility driven DSM, demand response, demand flexibility programs
• Demonstrated ability to identify sector needs, lead research, analysis, and other project activities
• Demonstrated ability to understand, analyse and synthesise technical and policy matters
• Demonstrated strategic/critical thinking skills for developing new work areas and for leading collaborations with various stakeholders
• Strong communication (especially written) skills
• Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, and networking skills

Demonstrated ability in working with and managing consultants, sub-contractors, and/or interns to get on-time and high-quality deliverables.

Excellent visualization and presentation skills Proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and presentation software Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams Commitment to AEEE's vision, mission, values, theory of change, and organisational goals.

PREFERRED 4+ years of consulting experience. Proficiency in one or more sub-segments demand side

Demonstrated experience of working with power utilities, relevant government departments and agencies, and regulators in a senior role (such as team lead, project lead, project manager).
