Senior Research Associate - Labor Track

We are looking for a researcher with a keen and demonstrated interest in the digital economy, political economy, and the labor market, who has experience publishing both academic and non-academic pieces, and is comfortable working in interdisciplinary teams. The ideal candidate will lead and support research on cutting-edge themes within this track, undertake socio-economic and legal analysis, and engage actively in national and global policy processes.

Interested applicants must possess the following qualifications:

• A Masters' degree preferably in law, development studies, public policy, economics, gender studies, political economy studies, or other allied degrees
• 3-4 years of prior qualified experience
• Strong analytical research and writing skills
• Ability to track emerging policy initiatives and respond promptly and effectively
• Familiarity with qualitative research methods, empirical data collection, and analysis
• Capacity to prepare practice and advocacy-oriented knowledge outputs
• Experience in the domain of digital technologies, social justice, and economic rights

Primary responsibilities include:

• Steering policy and legal research addressing decent work deficits in the digital economy and promoting workers rights and well-being
• Inputting into and supporting policy consultations and other national and global advocacy opportunities in the domain to influence norms and policy development
• Assisting with organizing sessions and attending/presenting at national and international advocacy events
• Developing written outputs from research initiatives, including reports, academic articles, media pieces, and explainers
• Supporting organizational grant development and collaboration and M&E activities of projects
