Tooling Manager

Role & responsibilities

Tooling Design & Development

• Lead the design and development of tools for plastic injection molding, sheet metal, die casting, and rubber molding.
• Drive design feasibility analysis (DFM), conducting reviews to ensure optimal tooling performance, cost, and production requirements.
• Oversee and approve technical specifications for tooling, including tool design reviews and ensuring compliance with engineering standards.
• Develop and implement innovative tooling solutions, including injection mold cooling designs and T-slot mechanisms to improve cycle time and reduce part costs.
• Project Management & Collaboration
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (including engineering, manufacturing, and quality) to drive tooling development and ensure timely delivery of tooling for new product launches.
• Lead and manage tooling projects from concept to mass production, ensuring tool design, prototyping, and testing align with customer requirements and quality standards.
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure the optimized design of tooling and part specifications, considering factors such as cycle time, tool size, and cost.
• Oversee tooling-related project timelines and budgets, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
