Electrical Engineer with PLC Experience

Role & responsibilities

• Design, develop, and program PLC-based control systems for industrial applications.
• Perform troubleshooting and maintenance of electrical systems, control panels, and automation equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Work with HMI (Human Machine Interface) and SCADA systems for process monitoring and control.
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers, software developers, and project managers to implement electrical solutions.
• Conduct testing, debugging, and validation of PLC programs and control systems.
• Provide technical support and training to maintenance and operations teams.
• Assist in continuous improvement projects to enhance system efficiency and reliability.
• Document electrical designs, modifications, and system configurations.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider, etc.).
• Strong understanding of industrial automation, electrical circuits, and control systems.
• Experience with SCADA, HMI development, and field instrumentation.
• Knowledge of VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), motor controls, and power distribution systems.
• Familiarity with communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, etc.).
• Proficiency in electrical CAD software for control panel design.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Knowledge of safety procedures and industry regulations (e.g., NEC, NFPA, IEC).

• Certification in PLC programming or industrial automation.
• Experience in robotics, AI-based automation, and Industry 4.0.
• Experience with high-voltage systems and electrical power distribution.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
