Role & responsibilities

1. Carry out literature survey using books / Journals / STN / Internet under the guidance of TL / STL / GL.

2. Execution of experiments as instructed by the TL / STL / GL with utmost care.

3. Discussion of reaction observations with TL / STL / GL.

4. Record experiments in the laboratory note book as per SOP.

5. Submit samples to ADL along with TRF and also keep track of samples submitted for analysis and expected time of getting result.

6. Follow up for analysis and collect analytical reports from ADL, also interpret the results along with ADL / TL / STL / GL.

7. Record analyzed results like TLC, chromatograms in the lab note book.

8. Update lab note book on a day-to day basis and getting the experiments checked and signed by the STL / GL.

9. Ensure the cleanliness of the fume hood, rotavapour, glasswares, balances, working bench and sitting place used by the individual.

10. Ensure proper labeling of experiments which are being carried in the laboratory as per SOP. Ensure proper storage of chemicals / samples / Intermediates / Analytical data / Xeroxed material / issued books / journals.

11. Carry out proper handling of lab equipments / analytical equipments in the laboratory.

12. Follow safety rules and participate in safety training.

13. Attend / participate in inter / intra organizational technical seminars / general lectures such as interaction.

14. Raise indents and subsequently issue the chemicals / glass ware / equipments from laboratory stores.

15. Maintain the log book.

16. Follow the rules and regulations regarding discipline.

17. Ensure disposal of waste solvents / waste chemicals as per SOP.

18. Communicate effectively with the team members in the same project regarding the experiment details, observation, precautions to be taken while executing if needed.

19. Carry out hazardous reaction only in the presence of seniors / authorized persons.

20. Refrain from disclosing the project work carried out to others without the consent of seniors.

21. Refrain from submitting samples for analysis as well as indent for the purchase of chemicals without the consent of the concerned manager.

22. Ensure timely report to respective managers proactively.
