Education:

• Bachelor's/Masters Degree in Special Education (B.Ed./M.Ed. Special Education)
• Diploma in Special Education (D.Ed. Special Education) (preferred)
• Additional certifications in Learning Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, or other special education areas (preferred)

Job Description:

Program and Curriculum Responsibilities:

• Implement evidence-based strategies and data-driven interventions for individualized education.
• Conduct one-on-one and small-group intensive intervention sessions.
• Collaborate with subject teachers, therapists, and parents to enhance student learning.
• Coordinate services with Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Therapists, and Student Support Teachers.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment.
• Design, plan, and execute lesson plans, curriculum plans, and assessments.
• Develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and track student progress.
• Contribute to school events, training, and parent meetings.

Classroom Duties:

• Maintain a safe and clean work environment while adhering to school policies.
• Support students with behavioral management strategies.
• Assist in conflict resolution and problem-solving strategies with students.
• Assess and document student progress and maintain confidential student records.
• Facilitate meetings with parents, teachers, and internal/external service providers.

Parent & Community Engagement:

• Establish strong relationships with parents and caregivers for student development.
• Conduct workshops and information sessions for parents.
• Maintain high levels of confidentiality and professional ethics.

Skills & Attributes Required:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Effective time management and organizational skills.
• Up-to-date knowledge of special education best practices.
• Ability to coach and mentor peers in special education techniques.
• Willingness to attend training and professional development programs.
