Department Head - Credit Control & FCU

Job Description:

• Person will be responsible for maintaining an optimum level of net credit cost and fraud credit loss, perform credit assessment and implement/ revise credit control guidelines.
• Improving service level and productivity for Credit Assessment.
• To ensure compliance requirements initiated by regulator and the company related to credit assessment and credit control.
• To balance credit risk and return by implementing/ monitoring credit assessment rules and processes.

Roles & Responsibility:

1. Credit Assessment

- Setup credit assessment process and guidelines and make modifications from time to time.

- Perform credit assessment for customer applications.

- Provide judgment training to related parties.

2. Monitor the performance of service provider.

3. Working with data analytics team and propose the policy with detailed insights to management
and implement the changes real time.

4. Work closely with the Tech, Product, Operations, and business team for developing new products.

5. Provide insights on risk strategies and product strategies.

6. Perform as contact point with credit bureaus, such as Civil Trans Union, Experian, CRIF Highmark and Equifax.

7. Continuously streamline operation flows and improve productivity by using new services and technologies.

8. Handle ad hoc tasks related to the department.

9. Build/Improve retail lending credit decision strategies and automate the process.

10. Implement digital underwriting process for all products Automate the end-to-end credit process.

11. Ensuring defined TAT and quality of portfolio

12. Excellent knowledge about the latest technologies and provide timely insights for on-time implementation.

13. Conducting CIBIL check for onboarding dealers.

14. Negotiate with the vendors as and when required. Also, responsible for shortlisting new vendors for verification.

15. Monitor/ investigate/ handle fraud transactions, including merchant fraud and customers fraud.

16. Perform customer/ merchant identity verification in relation to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF).

17. Understanding emerging fraud patterns in market and updation of the same to Risk / Business units including updating internal negative database.

18. Extending necessary support to the Collection & Legal unit for follow-up of overdue pertaining to the location including liaison with agencies / lawyers empaneled.

Desired Candidate Profile:

• Knowledge of NBFC/ banking sector, product offerings.
• Credit Assessment and Risk experience and strong working knowledge of the activities pertaining to Two-Wheeler Loan / Personal Loan/Car Loan.
• Ability to work with people at all levels in the organization and contribute to the strategic direction of the firm and the team.
• Strong risk and control track record. Should be a self-starter with experience leading a business end-to-end.
• Firm understanding of how to utilize data analytics to monitor and assess credit portfolios.
• Proven ability and desire to learn quickly, be flexible, and think strategically.
• Excellent understanding of credit scoring model and portfolio management.
