Deputy Manager - Security

Education Qualification

Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or a related field

Additional certifications in security management, risk assessment, or emergency response are highly desirable

Certification required

Certified Protection Professional (CPP) accreditation preferred

First Aid and CPR certification

Experience

Minimum 10 years experience in security management within the coal mining industry

Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing security protocols and procedures

Proven track record of leading security teams and managing security operations

Experience in conducting security risk assessments and formulating risk mitigation strategies

Knowledge of local and national security regulations and compliance standard

Roles and Responsibilities

Develop and implement comprehensive security strategies and protocols to safeguard personnel, assets, and infrastructure within the mining site

Oversee and manage all security operations, including access control, surveillance systems, and security personnel deployment

Conduct regular security risk assessments and devise proactive measures to mitigate potential threats and vulnerabilities

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security best practices into all aspects of mining operations

Lead and mentor security staff, providing guidance and training on emergency response procedures and crisis management

Ensure compliance with all relevant security regulations, standards, and guidelines

Participate in incident investigations and provide support in resolving security-related issues

Act as the primary point of contact for external law enforcement agencies and regulatory bodies

Prepare and present security reports and updates to senior management as required

Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging security technologies, and best practices to enhance the overall security posture
