BAL Developer | A Product Company | Baner | Pune

Job Responsibilities:

• Partner with the Product Owner to realize the product vision, set realistic feature goals and identify technical risks and dependencies.
• Serve as a team player willing to accept the full range of solution design, system development/enhancement, and production support responsibilities.
• Maintain and update online production batch systems.
• Reverse engineer code and develop technical requirements.
• Maintain flexible hours to communicate effectively with development team located in US

Technologies and Tools:

IBM BAL (Basic Assembly Language), JCL, TSO, Mainframe, Linux, Shell, PL/1, C/C++, Perl, Jira

Job Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in computer engineering or equivalent experience in Information Technology field.
• 10+ years experience with IBM BAL, JCL, and TSO is a must.
• Knowledge of debugging BAL code, an understanding of ABEND codes and the ability to read mainframe dumps.
• General experience and knowledge with Mainframe.
• Strong conceptual/analytical capabilities and communication/facilitation skills, with strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Knowledge of PL/1 and mainframe C a plus.
• Experienced in converting BAL code to a higher-level language like C, Perl or Python (or similar) is highly desirable
• Practical experience with Agile-based software delivery practices with varying sprint and release cycles, testing, code review and production migration phases is desired.
