Job Responsibilities:

• Create and administer MarkLogic applications and repositories, developing software and systems that enhance and deliver CAS content, products and solutions.

• Collaborate with teammates and product owners grooming backlogs of epics and stories for upcoming development sprints.

• Advance the local state-of-the-art in software engineering by helping to drive automated builds and software testing, advanced change control, and continuous delivery.

• Stay abreast of the latest technology trends through individual and team training opportunities. Technologies and Tools: MarkLogic, CoRB, Java, Linux, Scripting (Kshell/Bash, Perl, Ruby and/or Python), Git, Jenkins, XQuery, XSLT, Hadoop, Apache Spark, Scala Functional Programming, Apache Kafka, Solr/Lucene, AWS, TDD, Software Development Lifecycle, Jira, Confluence, CI/CD, DevOps, Agile Software Delivery

Job Requirements:

• 4-year degree in computer science or engineering, or equivalent experience.

• 5-plus years of Application Development, Software Delivery, and Operations.

• MarkLogic technology stack: advanced-level experience and knowledge of MarkLogic, Xquery, use of search APIs to query data, application development and administration

• CoRB (Content Reprocessing in Bulk) tool: any experience is desirable.

• Java/Linux technology stack: advanced-level experience and knowledge of application servers, backend processing, and databases.

• Linux scripting in Bash/Kshell: mid- to advanced-level experience

• Other scripting languages: mid-level experience with Perl is preferred but Python or Ruby are also useful.

• Automated Testing, Test-driven Development, debugging, troubleshooting, optimizing code and operations: mid-level experience and knowledge

• Big Data: hands-on experience desirable with big data technologies: Hadoop, Spark, Scala, Solr/Lucene

• Pair Programming: Need to have experience or be willing to pair with others when it makes sense.
