Role & responsibilities

1. E/M Coding:

Accurately assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for Evaluation and Management services based on provider documentation.

Evaluate documentation for completeness and accuracy to support proper code assignment.

2. Compliance and Standards:

Ensure adherence to coding guidelines, payer-specific policies, and organizational standards.

Stay updated on coding changes, payer requirements, and compliance regulations.

3. Documentation Review:

Collaborate with providers to ensure documentation supports the level of service reported.

Provide feedback to improve documentation quality and completeness.

4. Audit and Quality Assurance:

Participate in internal and external coding audits to maintain coding accuracy.

Address and resolve coding-related discrepancies.

5. Support Revenue Cycle:

Minimize claim denials by ensuring accurate and compliant coding practices.

Assist in resolving billing or reimbursement issues related to E/M coding.

Preferred candidate profile - We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable E/M Coder with a minimum of 1-2 year of experience in coding Evaluation and Management (E/M) services. The ideal candidate will have expertise in assigning accurate codes for E/M services, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting the organization's revenue cycle.
