Surgery Coder

Role & responsibilities

1. Accurate Surgical Coding:

Review medical records, operative notes, and documentation to assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for surgical procedures.

2. Compliance and Quality Assurance:

Ensure adherence to applicable coding standards, payer-specific guidelines, and regulatory requirements.

Stay updated on coding changes, payer policies, and compliance regulations.

3. Collaboration:

Work closely with surgeons, billing teams, and other healthcare staff to clarify documentation and resolve coding-related queries.

4. Audit and Reporting:

Participate in coding audits to ensure accuracy and identify areas for improvement.

Generate coding-related reports as needed.

5. Support Revenue Cycle:

Assist in minimizing claim denials by ensuring proper documentation and coding.

Collaborate on resolving billing and reimbursement issues.

Preferred candidate profile - We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Surgery Coder to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in surgical coding and a strong understanding of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems. The role involves ensuring accurate coding for surgical procedures, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting optimal revenue cycle management.
