Key Responsibilities:
Design & Development:
Design, specify, and select instrumentation and control systems for new and existing projects, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and customer requirements.
Develop and maintain control system architecture, process flow diagrams, and wiring diagrams for instrumentation systems.
Collaborate with process engineers to determine control requirements for specific applications and systems.
Provide input and recommendations on instrumentation technology, including sensors, transmitters, control valves, and PLCs.
Installation & Commissioning:
Oversee the installation of instrumentation and control systems, ensuring proper setup, wiring, and configuration according to design specifications.
Commission and test instruments and control systems to ensure proper functionality and performance.
Coordinate with electrical and mechanical teams to ensure integration of instrumentation systems into larger control systems.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
Monitor and maintain the performance of instrumentation systems, identifying and resolving issues promptly to minimize downtime.
Perform regular calibration and testing of instrumentation and control devices to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Troubleshoot faults in instrumentation systems, including field devices, controllers, and other automation equipment, and implement corrective actions as needed.
System Upgrades & Optimization:
Identify opportunities for system improvements, including upgrading or replacing outdated instrumentation to improve efficiency, accuracy, and reliability.
Implement changes to improve system performance or enhance process control, ensuring that all modifications comply with safety standards.
Provide recommendations for automation system optimizations to reduce energy consumption, improve safety, and increase process efficiency.
