1. Understanding the customer specifications and work out the development proposal.
2. Preparing the design input, design plan based on the customer specifications, requirements and applicable national/ international standards.
3. Evaluate the financial aspects of product development, such as budgets, expenditures, research and development appropriations, and return-on-investment and profit-loss projections.
4. Design of Circuit, PCB and Mechanical drawings if applicable.
5. Preparation of temporary product documents.
6. Proto sample evaluation and review as per the design input.
7. Coordinating with QA for design verification and with customer /marketing for proto sample validation.
8. Conducting design reviews before releasing to production by coordination with cross functional team (CFT)
9. Collecting the feedback on the developed samples from customer and QA
10. Monitor the design plans and changes in design review; Conducting design reviews before releasing to production by coordination with cross functional team (CFT)
11. Training to CFT members as required, for new products or for up gradation of existing product.
12. Suggest alternatives in case approved design makes are not available.
13. Modify the existing products for all approved ECNs.
14. Identify the issues w.r.t. improvement of the product reliability study and analysis product reliability by coordinating with CFT members.
15. Re-design the existing product, in reference with i) IPF meeting ii) Customer Complaint Analysis meeting.
16. Provide the work instructions for the special process activities to improve the product reliability.
17. Update with the market trends for new technology/ devices, for the cost reduction and reliability improvement.
18. Identify risks for the process and project, time to time.
19. Risk response planning and Monitor/control risks with follow-up.
