Network Engineer L2

Team Management:

Lead and mentor a team of network engineers and technicians.

Assign tasks, delegate responsibilities, and monitor team performance.

Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to team members.

Identify training needs and develop staff skillsets.

Network Operations:

Monitor network performance, identify potential issues, and proactively address them.

Implement network changes, upgrades, and new technologies.

Troubleshoot complex network issues and provide escalated support.

Maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and processes.

Technical Expertise:

Deep understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs)

Familiarity with network devices (routers, switches, firewalls) from major vendors (Cisco, Juniper, etc.)

Knowledge of network monitoring tools (SNMP, NetFlow, Wireshark)

Experience with network security concepts and best practices

Other Considerations:

Relevant certifications (CCNA / CCNP / JNCIP)

Experience with network automation and scripting tools (preferred)

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

On-call availability for after-hours support (may be required)

Network Security:

Implement and maintain network security policies and procedures.

Monitor network traffic for suspicious activity and respond to security incidents.

Manage firewall configurations and access controls.

Project Management:

Lead network infrastructure projects from planning to implementation.

Collaborate with other IT teams on cross-functional projects.

Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.

Vendor Management:

Evaluate and manage network hardware and software vendors.

Negotiate contracts and ensure timely delivery of services.

Leadership Skills:

Proven ability to lead and motivate a team

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
