As Procurement and Regulatory Compliance Manager for the Specialty Ingredients Business at Absolute, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring all aspects of Trade Regulatory compliance including approval journey of a novel product or formulation. The role would also entail strengthening the sourcing by identifying suppliers with high quality and cost-effective raw ingredients from within India and abroad. You will be responsible for developing and nurturing relationships with Regulatory Authorities and Key Ingredient Principals.
Key Responsibilities:
Trade Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all the Business trades conducted within India or Globally are compliant with the relevant regulations. This includes Food Specific such as FSSAI, USFDA and Non-specific such as Legal Metrology.
Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with External Stakeholders such as Authorities (eg FSSAI Officials) to expedite approvals, Consultants (engaged for specific advice, say introducing a novel ingredient in a new global geography). Would also require Internal liaising with departments like Legal, Finance, Business Development, Trade operations etc as required by the role.
Quality Assurance: Understand the product quality control required for various ingredients - both traded and the ones developed in-house. Set an assurance system in place to avoid product quality related failures at customer end. This shall include keeping abreast of certifications desired by most customers for that specific ingredient category.
Supplier Identification: Build an active pipeline of potential suppliers of ingredients by constant horizon scanning across the globe. This must be in line with the features and cost targets posed by the Business.
Supplier Onboarding: Own the journey from Supplier Identification to Set Parity in Quality to Price Terms Negotiations to Agreement signing (where applicable) and Material Receipt.
Study Price Movement: Understand the ingredient commodity price variation and the market dynamics influencing the same, to help the Business take rightly timed purchase decisions.
Qualifications:
bachelors degree in food science/ technology, Chemistry, or related field.
Firsthand experience of leading regulatory compliance at a food ingredient manufacturer/ trading house, for at least 3 years.
Firsthand experience of handling Procurement of ingredients from global suppliers at a food ingredient manufacturer/ trading house, or an FMCG FB Company, for at least 2 years.
Understanding of Regulations and Experience in connecting with regulatory authorities in Food, Nutra, Pharma and Cosmetics sectors.
Experience of regulatory compliance in internation trade of ingredients including lifecycle of approvals for a novel ingredient.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
