Category Executive

Role & responsibilities

• Category Management: Oversee and manage product categories, ensuring that the right products are selected and optimized for sale.
• Market Analysis: Conduct market research to understand industry trends, customer preferences, and competitor performance.
• Sales & Stock Monitoring: Monitor sales performance and stock levels within categories, making recommendations for reordering or discontinuing products as necessary.
• Supplier & Vendor Relationships: Liaise with suppliers, negotiating prices, delivery schedules, and promotional activities.
• Product Assortment & Pricing: Collaborate with the team to determine product assortment, set pricing strategies, and ensure competitive pricing.
• Promotions & Marketing: Plan and execute marketing strategies and promotional activities to boost sales within the category.
• Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and present regular reports on category performance, including sales trends, customer feedback, and stock levels.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with procurement, sales, and marketing teams to drive category performance and profitability.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in category management, product management, or a related field.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and trends.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other reporting tools.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
