Accounts Executive - Banking

Role & responsibilities

Bank Entries & Reconciliation:

• Record daily banking transactions, including receipts, payments and transfers.
• Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Monitor bank balances and manage fund allocations efficiently.
• Maintain updated records of bank charges, interest payments and loan transactions.

Ledger Reconciliation & Accuracy:

• Reconcile general ledger accounts with sub-ledgers and financial statements.
• Verify and match financial transactions to ensure accuracy in records.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in accounts, ensuring timely corrections.
• Perform periodic ledger audits to maintain financial integrity.

Bank & Vendor Reconciliation:

• Reconcile bank statements with accounting records and resolve any mismatches.
• Verify vendor and customer accounts to ensure accuracy in accounts payable and receivable.
• Coordinate with suppliers and clients to address any invoicing or payment discrepancies.

Debit & Credit Note Management:

• Issue and record debit notes for supplier returns, overcharges and other financial adjustments. • Process and record credit notes for discounts, refunds and adjustments for customers.
• Ensure that all debit and credit notes are properly authorized and documented.
• Reconcile vendor and customer accounts to reflect accurate financial adjustments.

RTGS & Banking Transactions:

• Process RTGS (Real-Time Gross Settlement) transactions for high-value payments.
• Ensure proper authorization and documentation for RTGS payments.
• Coordinate with banks for smooth and timely fund transfers.
• Maintain records of all RTGS transactions and update accounting software accordingly.
• Verify and reconcile bank statements to ensure RTGS transactions are correctly recorded.

Letter of Credit (LC) Management:

• Ensure compliance with LC terms and coordinate with banks for issuance, amendments, and settlements.
• Prepare and verify LC-related documents, including invoices, shipping documents and payment instructions.
• Track LC payments and due dates, ensuring timely processing.
• Liaise with suppliers, banks and internal teams for smooth execution of trade finance transactions.
• Process, review and manage Letters of Credit (LC) for both imports and exports.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in accounting with a focus on banking and LC transactions.
• Strong knowledge of bank reconciliations, trade finance and LC documentation.
• Proficiency in accounting software i.e. Tally Prime.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple financial processes efficiently.
