Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

- Develop and implement the freight strategy in alignment with business goals, focusing on cost optimization, reliability, and sustainability.

- Identify emerging trends in the freight industry to recommend innovations and improvements.

- Collaborate with senior leadership to support overall supply chain objectives and growth plans.

Operational Excellence:

- Manage end-to-end freight operations, including inbound, outbound, domestic, and international logistics.

- Ensure seamless coordination between transportation, warehousing, and inventory teams.

- Monitor and improve freight performance metrics such as on-time delivery, cost per shipment, and transit time.

Vendor and Carrier Management:

- Build and maintain strong relationships with freight forwarders, carriers, and third-party logistics providers (3PLs).

- Negotiate contracts and rates with service providers to achieve optimal cost and service levels.

- Establish and enforce service-level agreements (SLAs) with logistics partners.

Financial Oversight:

- Create and manage the freight budget, ensuring alignment with organizational financial goals.

- Analyze freight spend, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement cost-reduction initiatives.

- Provide regular financial and operational reports to senior management.

Compliance and Risk Management:

- Ensure compliance with all local, national, and international regulations related to freight and transportation.

- Develop risk mitigation strategies for supply chain disruptions, including alternative routing and contingency planning.

- Monitor and improve the environmental impact of freight operations.

Team Leadership:

- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing freight team.

- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including procurement, supply chain, and customer service.
