I track KPIs such as project timeline adherence, budget variance, team productivity, and client satisfaction.

Project timeline adherence: tracking project milestones and deadlines to ensure timely delivery
Budget variance: monitoring project expenses and comparing them to the budgeted amount
Team productivity: measuring team performance and output to ensure efficiency
Client satisfaction: gathering feedback from clients to assess their level of satisfaction with the project

Project management layman objectives is to ensure that project is delivered within time, budget, agreed scope with high quality delivery and Customer satisfaction

For schedule, KPI can be weeks delay, burndown rate of features and user stories as compared to what was planned. Backlog completion rate can be used in daily scrum calls to highlight the lag. Priority can be given to focus on high impact user stories or functional objects

For budget, important is to have resource load and track effort overrun till that month of project as per what efforts were baselined. Ex is 3 resources man months planned, but after 4 months, for that module still resource is needed has to be proactively checked and CR must be requested for any additional resource based on root cause if it was due to scope creep. CP is good metric (revenue-cost/revenue) which will indicate where the resource load stands

For scope, checks with what was agreed in sow, what is deviation in terms of complexity has to be raised as risk and the risks must be mitigated in form of CR if applicable

For quality, open defects, triage, closure rate, ensuring sign off of design and build

For customer satisfaction, ensuring continuous iterative feedback of processes and features ready for test, demo, change management involving change assessment, formulate change champions and training on new features, document interactive ones for training and continuous survey periodically
